HOW TO HOMESCHOOL IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND

If you are interested in Homeschooling in the State of Maryland, please read the article below and file the Notice of Consent with the State:

MARYLAND NOTICE OF CONSENT

This form needs to be filled out once for each child, 15 days before the beginning of the child's home school program. (Children ages 5-18 must be listed and filed). Several children may be listed at one time.

Mail it "CERTIFIED MAIL/RETURN RECEIPT REQUESTED" to the superintendent of your school district. "Verification," but NOT a new notice of consent form, is required each subsequent year.

Caution: some counties pressure home schoolers to use a different form that requires information that is not required under law. In most cases, you should insist on using the Department of Education form rather than a county form.
